The Stax Lambda Basic combined with the SRM-Xh amplifier offers a listening experience that appeals to many audiophiles. The Lambda Basic, part of the well-known Lambda series, is known for its open design, which provides a spacious and airy soundstage. This open design does mean that ambient sounds remain audible and that others can enjoy your music. <\/p>\n

The SRM-Xh amplifier is compact and easy to use, with a single headphone jack and volume control on the front. At the rear are line level inputs and a power supply connection. Despite its small size, the SRM-Xh delivers reliable performance and is easy to carry. <\/p>\n

Together, the Lambda Basic and SRM-Xh form a combination known for its transparent and detailed reproduction, bringing music to life. However, it is worth noting that the SRM-Xh cannot be included in a tape loop, as it lacks an output.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Stax Lambda Basic + SRM-Xh was designed according to Stax’s electro-static tradition, with a focus on speed, detail and neutrality. Developed by Stax’s team in Japan – led by experienced engineers like Mr. Kobayashi – the Lambda Basic uses ultra-thin plastic membranes and solid metal electrodes. The SRM-Xh amplifier is compact, completely discreetly built and focused on low noise and distortion. All components are selected for audio quality, with manufacturing entirely in Japan. <\/span><\/div>\n
Brand history<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
STAX Ltd. was founded in 1938 in Japan as a manufacturer of electrical components. In 1959, STAX introduced the world’s first electrostatic headphones, the SR-1. Since then, the brand has specialized in the production of electrostatic headphones and associated amplifiers, known as “earspeakers” and “driver units.” STAX developed the Lambda series in 1979, which introduced a new design with a larger ear cup and improved wearing comfort. In 2011, STAX became a subsidiary of Edifier Group. STAX’s products are handmade in Japan. The technology of STAX ear speakers is based on electrostatic drive, where ultra-thin diaphragms are driven between two electrodes. STAX offers several models ranging from entry-level to reference products. In addition to headphones and amplifiers, STAX also produces accessories such as cables and headrests.
