The preamplifier is equipped with several connection options, including two tape connection terminals for recording, playback and monitoring. The C-222 offers a subsonic filter function that reduces unwanted low frequencies without affecting the audible band. There is also a compensator function that automatically adjusts the frequency response based on volume position, ensuring balanced playback at different listening volumes. <\/span><\/div>\n

The Accuphase C-222 is a preamplifier that builds on the design philosophy of sonic purity and low distortion. Developed by Accuphase’s in-house team of Japanese engineers, the C-222 incorporates carefully selected discrete components and a fully balanced circuit design. The internal wiring is hand-drawn copper of high purity and the enclosure is made of solid aluminum. Everything is manufactured in Japan to Accuphase’s strict quality standards at their own factory in Yokohama. <\/span><\/div>\n

Accuphase was founded in Tokyo in 1972 as Kensonic Laboratory by brothers Nakaichi and Jiro Kasuga. The company name changed to Accuphase Laboratory, Inc. in 1982 to unify the brand name and company name. The brand introduced its first products, the preamplifier C-200, the power amplifier P-300 and the tuner T-100, in 1973. These models were produced with high-quality components and sophisticated workmanship, and immediately received positive reactions and awards.
