General description<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
The REL S5 features 550 watts of power and delivers a frequency range of 20Hz to 120Hz. The long-throw driver measures 12 inches, while the passive radiator is 12 inches. For wireless connectivity, the Arrow wireless module can optionally be added, allowing for flexible placement. Controls are simple through knobs for level, crossover and phase adjustment. The finish is available in high-gloss piano black or white, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into a variety of environments. DSP technology maximizes performance, providing dynamic low-frequency reproduction. <\/span><\/div>\n

The REL S5 is designed with a focus on precision and power, using high-quality materials and components. The enclosure is made of solid wood to minimize resonance. This subwoofer includes a NextGen3 digital amplifier system and specially engineered drivers for deeper bass. The internal wiring is top quality to minimize signal loss. Each unit is carefully inspected and tuned for maximum performance. Brand history<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
REL Acoustics was founded by Richard Edmund Lord, born in 1939. After a stint as a radio operator in the merchant marine, he founded the company with the goal of building the best subwoofers. In 1990, REL introduced the High Level Input, which derives the input signal from the power amplifier, allowing for seamless integration with speakers. In 1998, the company developed the ABC Input Filters and High Current Amplifiers, focused on precise crossover settings and providing sufficient power for subwoofer drivers. After an acquisition in 2005, new ideas and technologies were introduced, including NaturalSound Filtering in 2007 and Carbon Fibre Driver Cones in 2010.
