General description

The Custom Design Fishtank is a custom-made speaker stand designed specifically for the Harbeth P3 and SHL5 speakers. These stands are hand crafted and finished with attention to detail. They are made of ERW BS EN 10305-3 steel tubing and fitted with acoustic steel insulation plates. The open frame construction provides total rigidity and can easily be filled with inert material to control bass frequency. The standard finish is a fine texture powder coating in black or white.

Custom Design was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. The company is family-run and has been producing products in-house since its inception. All products are manufactured in its own workshop in Newcastle. Manufacturing includes steel cutting, welding and coating, as well as wood processing. Custom Design uses materials such as powder-coated steel, aluminum and solid wood, including maple, walnut and oak. Only selected wood from sustainably managed sources is used. The design and manufacturing process is done entirely in-house. The manufacturer offers steel and wood modules, pedestals and various forms of platforms, among others. The structure and finish of each product are customized in the workshop to specified requirements. Custom solutions are offered based on customer requests. De Compact Disc (CD) kwam zoals de meeste uitvindingen niet uit de lucht vallen. Na de uitvinding van de laser in 1958 werd in 1961 het eerste octrooi voor optisch leesbare schijven ingediend. In 1972 werden de eerste digitale videoplaten geïntroduceerd. Na een flop van Philips kwam de fabrikant in 1979 samen met Sony met de eerste cd, wat erop stond weten wij niet maar in 1982 kwam de eerste cd voor de markt uit, het was het album Visitors van ABBA. In dit jaar kwam de eerste speler beschikbaar en zo begon de verdrijving van de lp uit de markt. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen. Heb je cd’s, geniet er vooral nog eens van, ze hebben immers geen oneindige levensduur.

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this.
