Excellent store for high-end gear The shop offers carefully curated, high-quality products. Salesman Rick responds exceptionally fast—often within an hour. The staff are helpful and highly knowledgeable; they know high-end inside out and can advise even demanding customers. I’m from Slovakia and I’m glad I discovered this store—it clearly stands out from most. One of the best stores in the EU. If you’re looking for a reliable partner for top-tier equipment, you’ve just found it. Jan

Erg blij mee. Alexander, bedankt voor de goede zorgen.

We are 1 minute away from exit Woerderen. There is mo need to deal with the stressful city center. We have several private parking spaces in front. This also makes any loading and unloading easy. So it costs you nothing at all! (No pennies, nor your back.)

Yes yes, this is where it all started. The first real audio device! Thomas Edison patented it on Feb. 19, 1878, by which we are not sure he was the actual inventor either, in fact, this clever businessman bought many inventions, only to perfect them upon success.
In 1860 there was already the phonautograph in France, with which vibrations were scratched onto a paper with soot, but these could not be played back, so you could say that it was only a recording device. The oldest known recording is from April 9, 1860 and was only played for the first time by scientists in 2008. We can assure you that it will be a very bad recording! The phonograph was also used to record via the horn. The captured vibrations are passed through a steel needle to a wax roll, causing scratches to be made. This cylindrical wax roll became the sound carrier. We have a few of these wax rolls, just the cardboard tubes are amazing to look at. Unlike the phonautograph, playback was possible with the phonograph. By reversing the process, the steel needle on the wax roller actually acted as the transmitter of vibrations to the horn. No more musicians needed, just completely alone. Revolutionary. Music maestro please!
The Dutchman Lou Ottens developed the cassette at Philips. This was done in collaboration with Japanese electronics manufacturers so that it could be standardized. The cassette was shown to the public for the first time on August 30, 1963. Other magnetic tapes were also available but were pushed out of the market because Philips did not charge royalties for use of the patent. A music cassette (MC) had to be provided with music at the factory. It was thought that the gramophone record would be rejected, but this turned out to be an impossible battle. The first cassette players on the market were therefore not suitable for recording, while this is precisely what consumers were waiting for. The first cassettes had two tracks, one for the A-side, the second for the B-side, meaning they were mono, but soon stereo recorders appeared, and so did four-track tapes. Ultimately, many more blank tapes were sold and we also used them frequently and with great pleasure. From recording radio broadcasts to trying to make your own radio shows (without listeners), from making and distributing mixtapes to borrowing the latest CDs and keeping some guilders in your pocket. We have a wall full of cassettes in the shop, the smile that it evokes in most shows that many have nice memories of the era.
