Description
Great columns from the beautiful R-line. Sound big and refined! Voices are very direct and in the foreground, with drums placed behind them, for example. Do they neatly, put a good stage in front of you.
Trade show demo from importer. Trade show models have barely any running hours, or no running hours at all (not all products can be on at the same time in a trade show booth), are taken out of the box, displayed and then often sent directly to our shop. With the full official factory warranty!
This three-way floorstanding speaker uses the 12th-generation Uni-Q driver system with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) for crystal-clear reproduction of music and movies. The two 16.5 cm hybrid aluminum woofers deliver accurate and dynamic bass response. The frequency range extends from 33 Hz to 50 kHz, with a sensitivity of 88 dB. With a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a recommended amplifier power between 15 and 250 watts, it works well with a variety of amplifiers. The enclosure features internal bracing and Constrained Layer Damping to reduce unwanted vibration. Flexible port walls prevent resonance that could affect the midrange. Available in finishes such as black high gloss, white high gloss, walnut and titanium gloss.
The KEF R3 Meta is designed according to KEF’s acoustic philosophy: clear, accurate sound with minimal distortion. The speaker features the latest Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which absorbs unwanted resonances up to 99%. The cabinet is reinforced with Constrained Layer Damping for reduced vibration. Developed by KEF’s acoustics team led by Jack Oclee-Brown.
KEF was founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke in Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom. The name derives from Kent Engineering & Foundry, where the original workshop was located on the site of Kent Engineering’s steel construction plant. Raymond Cooke was a former BBC audio engineer. From the beginning, the company used synthetic materials and made measurements under controlled conditions. In 1973, a special acoustic laboratory was opened for technical developments. In 1988 KEF developed the Uni-Q driver, in which the treble and midrange speakers are placed together in one axis. Since 2005, it has been headquartered in East Sussex, Great Britain. Over the years, the brand has focused on construction of loudspeakers, including floorstanding models, bookshelf models and flush-mount speakers, as well as portable playback products.
