Character at the start, control throughout the chain. Don’t choose between warmth and precision—strike a balance between the two. This is where the signal is shaped exactly the way you want to hear it.
We offer hybrid preamps that combine tubes and transistors for a controlled yet musical sound. Subtle when needed, powerful when it counts. Whether new or used, we make sure it sounds great.
Buy Hybrid Preamplifiers for Balanced Hi-Fi Control
What is a hybrid preamplifier?
A hybrid preamplifier combines tubes and transistors in a single design to process the audio signal before it is sent to the power amplifier. Typically, tubes are responsible for shaping the sound, while transistors provide stability and control. In a hi-fi system, this means you get the best of both worlds: the character of tubes without sacrificing precision and reliability. The result is a balanced and controlled signal reproduction.
Why choose a hybrid preamplifier?
Hybrid preamplifiers are appealing to listeners who are looking for the best of both worlds.Characteristics:
a warmer sound than pure transistor preamplifiers
more control and stability than many tube designs
a good balance between detail and musicality
Versatile for use in various hi-fi systems
This makes hybrid preamplifiers suitable for a wide range of applications.
Different Types of Hybrid Preamplifiers
Not all hybrid designs are the same. The way tubes and transistors are used varies by model. With us you will encounter, among others:
line-level hybrid preamplifiers
models with tubes in the input stage
Designing Transistor Output Circuits
high-end models with refined tuning
The final sound depends on the combination chosen.
New and Used Hybrid Preamplifiers
Hybrid preamplifiers combine modern technology with classic elements. This makes both new and used models worth considering. We inspect used hybrid preamplifiers to ensure they are in working order and perform as expected. New models often feature improved components and greater stability. Secondhand instruments can be appealing to those looking for specific tonal characteristics.
What should you look for when choosing a hybrid preamp?
The right choice depends on your set and listening preference.Important points to watch out for:
compatibility with your power amplifier
balance between tube character and transistor control
number and type of inputs
construction quality and components used
A good hybrid preamp provides a stable and musical foundation.
Why Buy a Hybrid Preamplifier from Us
For us, it’s all about sound balance. We select hybrid preamplifiers based on how they perform within a real Hi-Fi system. For those who want to combine warmth and control without compromise, we offer hybrid preamps that bring the best of both worlds together.
CD
The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
Our playlist runs at full speed every day. Filled with everything, from the usual audiophile tracks to poorly recorded classics from the past, from a special Scandinavian chamber choir to hard Dutch hardcore. Enjoy it as we enjoy it too. Here are the links to the Freaklist! on Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify.
Once inside you forget outside, relaxation is the starting point. Sit down and play the music you like at the desired volume. Don't procrastinate, ask questions. Need a listening break, walk to the bar, grab a drink and start a game of pool.

Describing all daily listening sessions is not feasible, but highlighting one every now and then is of course fun to do and hopefully also fun to read. Several times a day, new combinations arise here from what visitors request or what we think has a chance. Read our experiences here.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all. Audio can be stolen from them. We also like to make those genes happy.
Soon hopefully!
