The character is often in the beginning. Where the signal takes shape, where the tone is set. This is where the mood of your music is created.
With us you will find tube preamplifiers that add color and depth to your set. Warm, smooth and with a feel that lingers. From classic designs to pre-owned units with history.
A tube preamplifier uses vacuum tubes to process the audio signal before sending it to the power amplifier. Unlike transistor designs, tubes often impart a specific timbre to the signal. Within a HiFi set, the preamplifier largely determines the tone of the sound. Tube amplification often creates a warmer and more organic sound.
Why choose a tube preamplifier?
Tube preamplifiers are loved for their musical character. They don’t add brute power, but primarily influence how music is presented. Characteristics:
warm and smooth sound
rich middle ground
natural reproduction of voices and instruments
more depth and involvement
For many listeners, this makes for a more relaxed and musical listening experience.
Different types of tube preamplifiers
Not every tube preamp sounds the same. Design and tube selection play a big role. With us you will encounter, among others:
line-level tube preamplifiers
models with different tube types
minimalist designs with short signal path
high end preamplifiers with extended tuning
The sound can range from subtly warm to distinctly characterful.
New and used tube preamplifiers
Tube preamplifiers are of interest both new and used. New models offer reliability and consistent performance. With us, used models are checked for operation and condition of the tubes. This makes it possible to find unique preamplifiers with character. Second-hand can be attractive for those looking for specific sound characteristics.
What do you look for when choosing a tube preamp?
The right choice depends on your set and listening preference.Important points to watch out for:
compatibility with your power amplifier
type of tubes and sound character
number and type of inputs
maintenance and replaceability of tubes
A good tube preamplifier is the basis for a musical and balanced sound.
Why buy a tube preamplifier from us
With us, it’s all about character and experience. Tube preamplifiers are selected for how they shape the signal within a HiFi set. For those seeking warmth, depth and musicality, you’ll find tube preamps that make the beginning of your signal special.
CD
The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
Our playlist runs at full speed every day. Filled with everything, from the usual audiophile tracks to poorly recorded classics from the past, from a special Scandinavian chamber choir to hard Dutch hardcore. Enjoy it as we enjoy it too. Here are the links to the Freaklist! on Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify.
Once inside you forget outside, relaxation is the starting point. Sit down and play the music you like at the desired volume. Don't procrastinate, ask questions. Need a listening break, walk to the bar, grab a drink and start a game of pool.

Describing all daily listening sessions is not feasible, but highlighting one every now and then is of course fun to do and hopefully also fun to read. Several times a day, new combinations arise here from what visitors request or what we think has a chance. Read our experiences here.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all. Audio can be stolen from them. We also like to make those genes happy.
Soon hopefully!
