Sometimes you just want a single device that handles the whole setup. Plug in the video, plug in the audio, connect the speakers, and you’re good to go. Movies, TV shows, concerts, gaming. Everything from a single central machine without having to build an entire rack of separate components right away.
We offer surround sound receivers for home theater setups that prioritize clarity, power, and flexibility. Whether new or used, our selection ranges from practical all-around models to high-end AV receivers that will instantly transform your entire living room.
Surround sound receivers for home theater and multichannel audio
The control center for your home theater system
For many home theater setups, a surround receiver serves as the central hub. Audio processing, amplification, source selection, and often video functionality are all combined into a single device. This makes it a practical solution for anyone who wants a complete surround sound setup without having to work directly with separate processors and power amplifiers. Movies, TV shows, gaming, concert recordings, or multichannel music. It all comes together here. For many listeners, this is simply the most logical path to a complete audio-video setup.
What does a surround sound receiver do?
A surround receiver processes incoming audio and video signals, decodes surround formats, and controls multiple speakers in your setup. Unlike a standalone surround processor, a receiver has built-in amplification. Here are some of the things you’ll find:
AV receivers for home theater applications
Surround sound receivers for 5.1 and 7.1 setups
models with streaming and networking capabilities
Used receivers for existing setups or upgrades
For those who want to combine convenience and functionality, this is often the most practical solution.
Why choose a surround sound receiver?
A surround sound receiver combines many features into a single device.Advantages of surround sound receivers:
Audio processing and amplification in a single component
Support for multiple speakers in surround sound setups
centralized control of audio and video sources
Streaming and networking capabilities on many models
Practical design with no loose parts
For many home theater setups, this is simply the fastest and most straightforward way to go.
New and Used Surround Sound Receivers
AV receivers are evolving rapidly, especially when it comes to HDMI, streaming, and support for new audio formats. At the same time, used models can still be a very sensible choice, depending on your setup and needs. Our selection changes constantly. Sometimes we have a modern surround sound receiver in stock with all the latest features. Other times, we get a used model that still works perfectly when set up correctly. As is often the case: sometimes you’re looking for something very specific, and sometimes you come across something that’s actually a better fit than what you originally had in mind.
What should you look for when choosing a surround sound receiver?
Not every receiver automatically fits into every home theater setup.Key points to note:
number of amplified channels
Compatibility with your speakers
HDMI and other connection options
Support for surround sound formats
streaming and networking capabilities
Ease of use and customization options
A surround sound setup is only truly enjoyable when everything works together seamlessly and naturally.
Why browse our selection of surround sound receivers?
Because not everyone wants to build a rack full of individual components right away.Sometimes you’re just looking for a practical all-in-one solution for movies and surround sound. Other times, you want to upgrade to something with just a little more functionality. Whether new or used, surround sound receivers regularly pop up here that home theater enthusiasts can’t wait to get their hands on.
CD
The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
Our playlist runs at full speed every day. Filled with everything, from the usual audiophile tracks to poorly recorded classics from the past, from a special Scandinavian chamber choir to hard Dutch hardcore. Enjoy it as we enjoy it too. Here are the links to the Freaklist! on Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify.
Once inside you forget outside, relaxation is the starting point. Sit down and play the music you like at the desired volume. Don't procrastinate, ask questions. Need a listening break, walk to the bar, grab a drink and start a game of pool.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all. Audio can be stolen from them. We also like to make those genes happy.
