Not every piece of equipment in your setup produces sound. Some are simply there to ensure that the rest can do their job properly. It might not be as exciting, but when you get serious about digital audio, you’ll naturally end up with this kind of gear.
We offer audio network switches for digital setups where streamers, music servers, and network players need to work together. Whether new or used, our selection ranges from practical network solutions to hardware that audio enthusiasts love to explore.
When you listen to music digitally using streamers, music servers, network players, or other network devices, your home network suddenly plays a more important role in your audio setup. An audio network switch helps connect multiple devices reliably within a single network. It may not be the most eye-catching part of your setup, but it’s one that becomes important as soon as digital audio takes on a more prominent role in how you listen.
What does an audio network switch do?
A network switch distributes network traffic among different devices within the same network. In an audio setup, for example, this means that your streamer, music server, NAS, and other network components can communicate with each other. Here are some of the things you’ll find:
network switches for digital audio setups
Compact switches for smaller network setups
Solutions for setups with multiple digital audio sources
Used network hardware for expanding existing systems
Depending on your setup, this can be a simple, practical addition or an integral part of a comprehensive digital ecosystem.
Why use a network switch in an audio setup?
As more digital components come together, network architecture becomes more important.Consider applications such as:
Connecting streamers to your home network
Connecting music servers to network players
Setting Up NAS Storage in Your System
Connecting multiple digital audio components in an organized manner
a more stable network architecture for digital audio
For those who listen exclusively to analog audio, this is completely irrelevant. For digital listeners, however, it is often quite relevant.
New and Used Audio Network Switches
Network hardware doesn’t always have to be complicated or brand-new to work well. Especially for practical applications, used solutions can still be highly relevant. Our selection changes regularly. Sometimes we have a modern switch ready for a sleek digital setup. Other times, we receive something that fits perfectly into an existing network configuration. As is often the case: sometimes you’re looking for something very specific, and other times you don’t realize you actually need it until you’re setting things up.
What should you look for when choosing an audio network switch?
Not every switch is automatically compatible with every digital setup.Key points to note:
number of network ports
Compatibility with your existing network
speed and network standard
Size and practical placement
Use in your digital audio setup
Above all, a solution must make logical sense in terms of how your network and audio equipment work together.
Why browse our selection of audio network switches?
Because digital audio is sometimes just as much about infrastructure as it is about the source itself.Sometimes you’re specifically looking for a practical addition to your network. Other times, you’re setting up a digital system and naturally end up with this kind of hardware. Whether new or used, solutions regularly pop up here that make your digital audio setup just that little bit more complete.
CD
The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
Our playlist runs at full speed every day. Filled with everything, from the usual audiophile tracks to poorly recorded classics from the past, from a special Scandinavian chamber choir to hard Dutch hardcore. Enjoy it as we enjoy it too. Here are the links to the Freaklist! on Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify.
Once inside you forget outside, relaxation is the starting point. Sit down and play the music you like at the desired volume. Don't procrastinate, ask questions. Need a listening break, walk to the bar, grab a drink and start a game of pool.

Describing all daily listening sessions is not feasible, but highlighting one every now and then is of course fun to do and hopefully also fun to read. Several times a day, new combinations arise here from what visitors request or what we think has a chance. Read our experiences here.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all. Audio can be stolen from them. We also like to make those genes happy.
Soon hopefully!
