Network

Back in the day, a stereo system was just a matter of plugging in the cable and turning on the music. These days, there’s sometimes an entire network behind your system. Streamers, music servers, NAS, switches. It sounds technical, but once you get serious about digital listening, it’s just part of the deal.

Here, you’ll find networking solutions for audio setups where everything needs to work together seamlessly. Whether new or used, from practical networking hardware to gear that digital audio enthusiasts will love at first sight.

Audio Network Solutions for Digital Hi-Fi Setups

The network behind modern digital audio

Anyone who listens to music digitally using streamers, music servers, network players, or NAS storage quickly realizes that audio is no longer just about speakers and amplifiers. The network behind it suddenly becomes a crucial part of how everything works together. A stable network setup ensures that digital sources can communicate with each other, music collections remain accessible, and streaming runs smoothly. It may not be the most glamorous part of your setup, but it’s one that’s becoming increasingly important.

What is considered audio network equipment?

In the world of digital hi-fi, a network is more than just a router tucked away in a utility closet. Here are some of the things you’ll find:
  • audio network switches
  • network components for streamers and music servers
  • NAS-related network solutions
  • accessories for digital audio infrastructure
  • Used network hardware for existing setups
Depending on your setup, this can be a simple, practical addition or an important part of your entire digital ecosystem.

Why Networking Is Important in Digital Audio

As soon as multiple digital components come together, a stable network structure becomes essential. Consider applications such as:
  • Connecting streamers to your network
  • Connecting music servers to digital audio sources
  • Making NAS Storage Accessible in Your Setup
  • enabling multiple digital components to work together seamlessly
  • reliable access to local music libraries and streaming services
Completely irrelevant to listeners who prefer purely analog audio. For digital audio enthusiasts, however, it’s an everyday reality.

New and Used Networking Solutions

Network equipment doesn’t always have to be brand-new to work perfectly. Many practical solutions remain relevant for years as long as they fit into your existing setup. Our inventory is constantly changing. Sometimes we have modern network hardware available for a sleek digital audio setup. Other times, we receive a used solution that fits perfectly into an existing configuration. As is often the case: sometimes you’re looking for something very specific, and other times you don’t realize you need it until you’re setting things up.

What should you look for in audio network equipment?

Not every networking solution is automatically suitable for every digital setup. Key points to note:
  • Compatibility with your existing network
  • number of connections or network ports
  • Use in your audio setup
  • Support for your digital components
  • format and practical integration
Above all, a network should work logically without causing you trouble on a daily basis.

Why browse our network solutions?

Because digital audio is sometimes just as much about infrastructure as it is about the music source itself. Sometimes you’re specifically looking for a practical addition to your streamer or music server. Other times, you’re simply building a digital setup and naturally end up exploring this area. Whether new or used, network solutions regularly pop up here that immediately spark ideas for digital music listeners.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
