Buy portable players for high-fidelity sound on the go
What are portable players?
Portable players are designed to play music on the go without relying on a stationary hi-fi system. Unlike smartphones, these devices are specifically built for audio, featuring better components and higher sound quality. In the world of hi-fi, portable players are often used by listeners who value detail, dynamics, and a natural sound even when on the go. They serve as a compact yet high-quality audio source.
Different types of portable players
Not all portable players are the same. Depending on your needs and requirements, there are different models available. With us you will encounter, among others:
High-resolution audio players for lossless and Hi-Fi audio
portable players with a built-in DAC and amplifier
compact models for everyday use
used players with proven sound quality
Some models focus on maximum sound quality, while others offer a balance between ease of use and performance.
New and used portable players
Portable audio technology is evolving rapidly, but that doesn’t mean older models are obsolete. Many players from previous generations still offer excellent performance. We offer both new and used portable players. Used models are checked for functionality and sound quality, so you can be sure they still perform as intended. New models often offer support for high-resolution audio formats, improved battery life, and modern connectivity.
What should you look for when choosing a portable music player?
The right choice depends on how and where you listen.Important points to watch out for:
Support for audio formats and resolutions
battery life and portability
quality of the internal DAC and amplification
ease of use and interface
A good portable player lets you enjoy high-quality audio even when you’re away from your hi-fi system.
Why buy a portable player from us
For us, it’s not just about listening at home. We select portable players that deliver great performance on the go. Sound quality is our top priority, regardless of size or price. Whether you’re looking for a compact player for everyday use or a high-quality Hi-Fi solution for on the go, we have portable players that bring your music to life wherever you are.
CD
The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
Our playlist runs at full speed every day. Filled with everything, from the usual audiophile tracks to poorly recorded classics from the past, from a special Scandinavian chamber choir to hard Dutch hardcore. Enjoy it as we enjoy it too. Here are the links to the Freaklist! on Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify.
Once inside you forget outside, relaxation is the starting point. Sit down and play the music you like at the desired volume. Don't procrastinate, ask questions. Need a listening break, walk to the bar, grab a drink and start a game of pool.

Describing all daily listening sessions is not feasible, but highlighting one every now and then is of course fun to do and hopefully also fun to read. Several times a day, new combinations arise here from what visitors request or what we think has a chance. Read our experiences here.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all. Audio can be stolen from them. We also like to make those genes happy.
Soon hopefully!
