The material has become somewhat sticky. This is due to the plasticizers in the material and is something we frequently encounter here on appliances, speakers, subwoofers and remote controls. This can largely be remedied with alcohol, but you will always see it slightly. Not to worry, even luxury car brands choose to use this material. So there’s probably someone out there with their hairy tanned arm stuck to the center console of their expensive convertible, too.
The Bluesound Powernode 2i was designed by the NAD development team, known for their audio innovations. The focus was on combining high-quality audio performance with modern streaming capabilities. The enclosure is made of solid plastic with a matte finish, and internally sits a HybridDigital amplifier and a 32-bit/384kHz DAC. Everything is powered by technologies sourced from NAD and HiFi insights from the Lenbrook Group in Canada.
Bluesound was founded in 2013 as part of Lenbrook Industries, a Canadian company that also includes the NAD Electronics and PSB Speakers brands. The brand was developed by a team of audio experts previously involved in designing high-fidelity equipment since the 1970s. Bluesound was born out of a desire to provide high-quality wireless audio and focuses on combining hi-fi sound quality with modern wireless technologies. The brand was born from a project that was originally intended to procure existing streaming technology, but eventually decided to develop the technology internally. This led to the creation of BluOS, a proprietary platform for managing and streaming high-resolution audio in a multi-room environment.
