Reviews & awards | Hifi Rose RS250A

Hi-Fi Voice

highlights the musical qualities of the HiFi Rose RS250A, with a smooth and warm sound that presents music like a silk veil. The dynamics are respectable, supported by sufficiently full bass, although the sound is more relaxed than tight and penetrating. With complex compositions, the RS250A remains clear and organized, with an organic and cohesive sound reproduction.

Stereophile

notes that the RS250A has been upgraded with the ESS Sabre ES9028PRO DAC chip, which supports PCM up to 32/768 and DSD up to DSD512. When listening to various pieces of music, including jazz and electronic music, the RS250A stood out for its ability to accurately reproduce both the subtleties of small ensembles and the energy of large-scale recordings.

AVForums

highlights the versatility of the RS250A as a network streamer and digital preamplifier. The device is praised for its excellent build quality, rich and engaging sound reproduction, and flexible specifications. Although the app is considered somewhat quirky, the RS250A offers a superior listening experience suitable for a wide range of music systems.

HIFI-REGLER

highlights the versatility of the RS250A as a network streamer, preamplifier, and DAC. The device features a comprehensive control system with an impressive range of functions, including the ability to play videos at up to 60 frames per second. The large display is easy to read and offers various display options during music playback. The build quality is exceptional, with an all-aluminum chassis and an elegant design.

Audiophilepure

highlights the versatility of the RS250A, which handles both large-scale classical recordings and heavy rock tracks with ease. When listening to Bill Evans’ “Night And Day,” the deep bass and drums were rendered convincingly without drawing attention to themselves, allowing the listener to enjoy the virtuoso performance. Even with older live recordings by ELP, the RS250A convincingly conveyed the band’s musical interaction and energy.

FWD

highlights the versatility of the RS250A as a network player with extensive features, including the ability to play 4K video. The device stands out thanks to its large touchscreen, which draws attention. HiFi Rose has gained a lot of recognition in a short time, partly due to the innovative designs and features of their streamers.

Hi-Fi News

highlights the technical performance of the RS250A, especially its various filter options that range from 'Fast' to 'Slow,' each with its own frequency response. Although performance is generally unobtrusive, the RS250A exhibits design-specific jitter, which is largely eliminated in 'Resampling' mode. The RS250A offers a maximum output level of 2.28Vrms and an A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio of 110.4dB.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
