Not overly large columns but we can assure you that the soundstage is bizarrely large. This is first of all due to the tweeter which is very spacious, it surrounds. The center is mostly clean, certainly not harsh. Voices are quiet, not overdone, which can be seductive. The low of these columns is what helps create that great stage. There is tremendous power in it and lifts the midrange to great heights. They have bet heavily on technical finesse. The MPD III tweeter, for example, which has a range of up to 60kHz, it delivers blazing fast and clear frequencies.

Background information
The Monitor Audio Platinum 200 3G was designed by the in-house R&D team in the UK, including acoustical engineer Dean Hartley. The speaker features the latest version of the MPD III tweeter and RDT III cones, constructed from layered C-CAM and carbon fiber. The cabinet is hand veneered and acoustically optimized via internal bracing and internal wiring of Pureflow silver copper. Everything is designed in-house with top quality components.

Monitor Audio was founded in 1972 by Mo Iqbal in a small factory in Teversham, near Cambridge, England. The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this.
