Reviews & awards | Silent Angel Rhein Z1 v2

What Hi-Fi? / Australian Hi-Fi

: The review emphasizes that the
Silent Angel Rhein Z1 V2
is a highly versatile and reliable music server with multiple streaming options, including Roon, AirPlay 2, DLNA, and Spotify Connect. It warns that with some DACs, slight noise may be audible via USB, although according to the reviewer, this isn’t an issue with most high-quality DACs. Control via the VitOS Manager app is described as functional but somewhat cold and less fluid in terms of the interface.

AudioKeyReviews

: The combination of the Rhein Z1 with the external power supply
Forester F2
It is praised as remarkably musical, with a richness of detail, transparency, soundstage, and tonality that far exceed its price point. The reviewer believes that this combination even outperforms the Roon Nucleus Plus in terms of performance within comparable setups; the value for money is described as exceptional.

Hi-Fi Class (Poland)

: The sound is described as open, balanced, and rich in detail, with good dynamics and a significant improvement in micro-details, especially in orchestral recordings. For streaming via Spotify Connect, they noted that performance and quality are commendable, although local storage and NAS file transfers still offer better sound quality. A high-quality linear power supply is mentioned here as a key upgrade for those who want to optimize their system down to the last detail.

AVGuide.ch

: This review notes that the Z1 V2’s build quality is very high: a sturdy aluminum chassis, quiet SSDs, and the absence of fans all contribute to minimal noise and efficient temperature management. The connectivity options are discussed in detail: two USB 2.0 ports for storage, a separate USB 2.0 audio output, a USB 3.0 port for external storage devices, an HDMI service port, and Gigabit LAN. The reviewer praises the fact that the Z1 V2 supports Roon Core, DLNA, and Spotify Connect, making the device versatile across various digital music setups.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
