Description
The CS2.3 is an absolute hit from Thiel’s oh-so-beautiful series. We all enjoyed it very much here together. If you want to forget that you are working with audio, but want to listen purely to music, then Thiel is a builder where you are right. Wonderfully honest! Note: these are thirsty guys, an amplifier delivering cash loads of power will take them to an unprecedented level. Welcome for a session!
Thiel Audio was founded by three college friends: Jim Thiel, Tom Thiel and Kathy Gornik, who began manufacturing equipment in their home garage in 1976. Thiel Audio was founded with $25,000 borrowed from parents and some friends. Jim Thiel graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1968, majoring in physics. Thiel Audio first exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show in 1977 (the year the company was actually founded, although it had been selling since 1976. Its introductory loudspeaker was the 01 full-range. A year later, in 1978, the 03 model introduced the principles of time, phase and frequency coherence that would become the basis for all of Jim Thiel’s designs and the fundamental idea why Thiel would be known. Tom Thiel, a skilled woodworker, built the cabinets. Their first hi-fi product was a two-way speaker with an equalizer for high-quality bass reproduction. Jim Thiel soon realized he needed someone to do the sales part of the business, so Gornik tried to sell them in its city, Washington, D.C. Over the life of the company, Thiel had a number of long-lived series, including the CS 2 first introduced in 1982 and updated until 2012 with the introduction of the CS 2.7. In March 2006, Thiel unveiled the pinnacle of the CS 3 series, the Thiel CS 3.7. Jim Thiel died in 2009.
