Description

Description Freakuence!
Playback is clear and detailed, with a wide frequency range and minimal distortion. The construction is solid, with a solid aluminum front panel and professional digital-to-analog converters. This ensures an optimal musical experience.
Retail price: 1,250.00
General description
The Van Medevoort CD 250 is a CD player designed for music lovers. The sturdy housing helps minimize resonances and mechanical distortion. The transport mechanism is mounted on a sub-chassis with spring suspension, which reduces acoustic feedback.

High quality audio components have been used in the power supply and both digital and analog circuits. The vM super clock ensures accurate timing and minimal jitter in the digital domain.

Additional control options such as repeat or random play are available with the remote control. In addition to gold-plated digital and analog coaxial cinch outputs, there is also a digital optical output.

Background information
The Van Medevoort CD 250 is a high-end CD player developed by engineer Ben van Medevoort. The design follows his philosophy of maximum signal integrity: short signal paths, discrete component selection and a very stable power supply. The enclosure is low-resonance and constructed of thick steel. Internal wiring and components are selected for sonic performance, including high-grade audio capacitors and a specially adapted DA conversion. Hand-built in the Netherlands.
Brand history
Van Medevoort was founded in 1985 by audio designer Ben van Medevoort. The brand develops, assembles and tests all its products in the Netherlands. In 1986, the company introduced its first amplifier, the vM MA100, followed by the vM SA100 stereo power amplifier with matching vM PA100 preamplifier. Digital products such as D/A converters and CD players were added in the 1990s. This expanded the delivery program to include both analog and digital components. Subsequent product lines were given the designation “vM” followed by a type number. The designs are based on discrete electronics, with no use of op-amps or digital volume control. The enclosures are made entirely of metal. Van Medevoort carries out production, final assembly, testing and service itself from its headquarters in IJsselstein.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.

Audio can be stolen from them.
