Description
Extremely bright (and heavy) speakers. Minuscule changes they know how to reproduce. The low of these heavy guys is particularly defined. This is for the real connoisseurs. A holographic musical spectacle! The high sensitivity makes them suitable for various amplifiers.
The Wilson Audio Cub 1 is a compact loudspeaker designed for high-quality music reproduction in smaller spaces. With a sensitivity of 94 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, this speaker is suitable for a variety of amplifiers. The enclosure is made of MDF with an X-Material baffle, which contributes to the sound quality. The Cub 1 is equipped with a 1-inch inverted titanium oxide tweeter and two 6.5-inch drivers.
The Wilson Audio Cub 1 was designed by Dave Wilson as a compact monitor with the same accuracy and musical integrity as larger systems. The Cub 1 uses high-quality drivers and carefully selected internal cabling. The enclosure is constructed of Wilson’s proprietary X-material for optimal damping and minimal resonance. Each pair is hand-built in Utah, USA.
Wilson Audio is based in Provo, Utah, United States. Wilson Audio was founded in 1974 by the late David A. Wilson (1944-2018), he did so with his wife Sheryl Lee Wilson. Until his death, David Wilson was chairman of Wilson Audio’s board of directors and Sheryl Lee Wilson was vice chairman. When Dave Wilson began building loudspeakers in his garage in the 1980s, he was concerned from the start about controlling cabinet resonances. Some of the techniques he used (and later abandoned) are now heralded by other manufacturers as cutting edge technology. Meanwhile, Dave and the Wilson engineers continued to research and develop a range of patented composites ideally suited for speaker enclosures. Wilson is known in our shop as very neutral/clean, without any resonance, with unprecedented tight low pressure. The inside of a Wilson is perhaps even more impressive than the outside (yes, there are plenty of pictures of it).
