Tubes

Sometimes you don’t change the amplifier itself, but what’s glowing inside it. And suddenly, the same system feels completely different. More warmth, more calm, more bite. A small component, but one with a surprisingly big impact.

Here, you’ll find audio tubes for replacement, fine-tuning, or just out of curiosity. New or used, from well-known classics to interesting finds that tube enthusiasts will instantly love.

Let it glow!

Audio tubes for tube amplifiers

In a tube amplifier, a large part of its character is shaped right here. Audio tubes don’t just amplify the signal; they also directly influence how music is experienced. More warmth, a different midrange, more calm, or, conversely, extra energy. Small differences on paper can feel surprisingly significant in a setup. For many hi-fi enthusiasts, replacing or swapping out tubes is therefore a logical way to further refine an existing system.

Different Types of Audio Tubes

Not every tube does the same thing. Within a tube amplifier, different types each have their own role. Here are some of the things you’ll find:
  • preamp tubes for signal processing and tone character
  • Power and speaker driver output tubes
  • rectifier tubes for power supply applications
  • replacement tubes for existing amplifiers
  • Specific tube types for compatible models
Which tube you need depends entirely on your amplifier. Compatibility is no minor detail here.

Why replace or compare tubes?

Tubes wear out—that’s just part of the deal. But replacing them isn’t just a matter of necessity. In fact, many enthusiasts deliberately experiment with different tubes to see how they affect their setup. Consider reasons such as:
  • Replace worn-out pipes
  • experimenting with a different tonal character
  • Re-optimize existing amplifiers
  • Search for specific or hard-to-find pipe types
  • Use matched sets for consistent performance
For some audio enthusiasts, this is almost a hobby in itself.

New and used audio tubes

New audio tubes offer reliability, a long service life, and a practical solution when replacement is needed. Used tubes, on the other hand, are of interest to those looking for older production runs, specific sound characteristics, or hard-to-find types. Our selection changes regularly. Sometimes we have modern productions ready to replace older ones. Sometimes something comes in that immediately piques the curiosity of tube enthusiasts. That makes this the kind of category you’ll want to check out every now and then.

What should you look for when choosing audio tubes?

The wrong tube isn’t just impractical—it might simply not work in your amplifier. Key points to note:
  • exact pipe type
  • Compatibility with your amplifier
  • application within the circuit
  • new or used
  • coordinated sets where appropriate
  • condition and expected service life
In this case, it’s always smarter to double-check than to guess.

Why browse through our audio tubes?

Because this is exactly the kind of category where curiosity and necessity come together beautifully. Sometimes you’re just looking for a direct replacement. Sometimes you’re curious to see how a different tube will affect your sound. Whether new or used, we regularly get in items that tube enthusiasts will instantly love.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.

We are having a great time with all the audio and we can share that feeling with most visitors. Yet sometimes there are companions who have no interest in it at all.
Audio can be stolen from them.
We also like to make those genes happy.
