Reviews & awards | Advance Paris PlayStream A7

StereoNET

reviews the Advance Paris PlayStream A7 as a versatile and practical amplifier with more connectivity than expected for the price. The unit offers an open, transparent and musically articulate sound, with pleasing tonal balance and tight bass response. The built-in network streamer performs almost comparable to an external DAC, and Bluetooth streaming is better than expected. One downside is the Advance Playstream app, which falls short of the A7's extensive connectivity options in terms of functionality. Nevertheless, the amplifier is praised for its good features and solid build quality, and is recommended for price-conscious buyers.

HiFiReport

highlights the PlayStream A7's refined and spacious sound, as well as its all-in-one design that combines streaming, DAC decoding, phono preamplification and integrated amplification. The design is praised for its retro look with striking blue VU meters and a layered texture on the front panel. The controls, including a central LCD display and metal volume knob, are considered user-friendly.

Testberichte.de

notes that the PlayStream A7 offers filigree and transparent sound, with a high-quality D/A converter and a wide range of connections, including Wi-Fi and HDMI. However, the device lacks some power in sound reproduction, and the user manual and app are considered less user-friendly. The lack of an included Bluetooth dongle is also cited as a drawback.

FIDELITY online

emphasizes that the PlayStream A7 offers comprehensive equipment that combines both traditional and modern technologies. It features numerous connectivity options, including five line inputs, a phono input for MM and MC, and various digital inputs such as optical, coaxial, USB, HDMI ARC and Ethernet. This versatility makes it a focal point in a modern audio system.

Modernhifi.de

highlights that the PlayStream A7 combines powerful power, numerous connection options and simple operation. For about 1,300 euros, the device offers a modern audio hub, with phono, streaming and HDMI connections standing out in particular.

Awards:

The Advance Paris PlayStream A7 received the

Stereonet Applause Award

, highlighting the device's outstanding performance and versatility.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
