Reviews & awards | ARCAM Radia SA35

AVForums

rates the Arcam Radia SA35 as an excellent amplifier that offers improvements in every area compared to its predecessor, the SA30. Although the price increase is significant, the improved functionality and sound quality justify this increase. The SA35 is praised for its excellent performance across various inputs, flexible specifications, and attractive design. Some drawbacks include the higher price and a few design issues with the app. The amplifier receives a score of 9 out of 10 and the rating “Highly Recommended.”

StereoNET International

highlights the SA35’s attractive design and high build quality. The amplifier delivers 120W per channel into 8 ohms and utilizes Arcam’s fifth-generation Class-G amplification. The sound is described as detailed, smooth, and suitable for extended listening, with excellent timing and a wide soundstage. The built-in ESS DAC contributes to a realistic soundstage. With Dirac Live enabled, the SA35 sounds slightly more reserved in the midrange.

What Hi-Fi?

names the Arcam SA35 as the best premium amplifier in its 2026 buying guide for hi-fi systems. The amplifier is praised for its powerful Class G amplification and extensive streaming support, making it a top choice for home listeners seeking high-quality performance.

AUDIO Stereoplay

highlights the SA35’s excellent sound quality, with a full and warm soundstage that pairs well with orchestral music. The amplifier offers a wide range of inputs, including phono, and features a large, easy-to-read display. One drawback is that Dirac Live is perceived as complicated and not flawless. The overall score is 160 points with a value-for-money rating of “very good.”

Stereo

highlights the Arcam Radia SA35’s extensive features, including streaming capabilities and room correction via Dirac Live. The amplifier utilizes the unique “Class G” circuitry and offers a wide range of connections, including phono inputs. The design is considered modern and attractive, and the sound quality is praised for its clarity and dynamics.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
