General Description
The AudioQuest Robin Hood ZERO ban <> ban silver 300cm is a high-quality speaker cable designed to get the most out of your audio system. The AudioQuest Robin Hood ZERO ban <> ban silver 300cm falls into the category of speaker interconnects, designed to deliver a precise and dynamic soundstage, with a balanced tone and detailed reproduction.
The AudioQuest Robin Hood ZERO ban <> ban silver 300 cm really brings out the dynamics of music: subtle details remain audible, without powerful passages sounding too harsh. The stereo image gains more depth, and instruments and vocals are better positioned. Thanks to the quality of the materials and construction, coherence across frequencies is maintained; the sound is clear yet warm, with enough nuance to highlight both micro- and macro-details in the music.
Although the AudioQuest Robin Hood ZERO Ban <> Ban Silver 300cm is a longer cable, it does not compromise its purpose: undistorted signal transmission with as little impact on the sound reproduction as possible. This speaker cable excels in listening rooms where refinement, detail, and balance are prioritized.

Background Information
AudioQuest’s Robin Hood ZERO is an advanced 300 cm speaker cable designed with ZERO technology, intended to enable the most natural and accurate sound reproduction possible. The cable uses high-purity solid-copper conductors for excellent conductivity and minimizes electrical and magnetic distortion. AudioQuest’s design philosophy focuses on minimizing interference with the audio signal. The silver “ban” plugs ensure optimal connection and durability. The company sources its materials from specialized suppliers worldwide to guarantee the highest quality.
Brand History
AudioQuest was founded in 1980 by William E. Low in California, United States. The brand began by hand assembling cables according to specific design methods based on minimizing distortion. AudioQuest has since developed a product line that includes interlink cables, speaker cables, digital and network cables, mains products and portable accessories. The company has stuck to the use of directional cables and solid core conductors from the beginning. In 2012, AudioQuest introduced the DragonFly, a USB DAC. Product development takes place in the United States, while some manufacturing is done in China and elsewhere. AudioQuest applies a philosophy where material selection, geometry and finish have a direct impact on cable performance.

Questions & Answers

What is the difference in conductor material between the Robin Hood ZERO and the SILVER?

Robin Hood ZERO uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, while SILVER features more advanced Solid PSS Sonic-Signature conductors with additional silver plating for improved high-frequency performance.

How is noise reduction controlled in these models?

Both models feature a 72 V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) combined with a multi-layer carbon-based noise-dissipation system to minimize RF noise and microphonic distortion.

Can the ZERO or SILVER be used in full-range mode?

Yes, both cables can be used as full-range cables or in a BiWire configuration when combined with a specific BASS cable.

What does “ZERO-Tech (No Characteristic Impedance)” mean?

This means that the cable does not have a fixed characteristic impedance; the insulation is designed to minimize interaction with the conductors, ensuring uncompressed current transfer.

What connectors are available on both the amplifier and speaker sides?

Available terminations include U-spades, banana plugs, multi-spades, or V-spades; U-spades are recommended as standard for both the amplifier and speaker sides.

How do you set up a BiWire configuration with these cables?

Use one ZERO or SILVER cable for the high frequencies and a dedicated BASS cable for the low frequencies, connecting them to the corresponding terminals on the speaker; on the amplifier side, the cables are combined or connected via jumpers.

Is it possible to use two ZERO cables in parallel?

This is not recommended; using two ZERO cables in parallel can cause resonance or “ringing” at high frequencies. Use only a ZERO cable plus a BASS cable or jumpers as an alternative.

How does cable length affect performance?

Length affects resistance and capacitance; longer pairs result in greater signal loss, especially with high-frequency signals. Both models are available in lengths of 8, 10, 12, and 15 feet (~2.4–4.6 meters).

What is the gauge of these cables, and how does that affect sound quality?

The gauge is approximately 15 AWG (1.65 mm²), which provides sufficient cross-sectional area to minimize signal loss and maintain dynamic range at typical speaker impedances.

Are these cables suitable for EU amplifiers with insulated binding posts?

Yes, but U-Spade is strongly recommended when the binding posts are non-adjustable or banana plugs cannot be fully secured; U-Spade is suitable for all types of binding posts.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
