Great speakers! The driver integration feels seamless—you can’t tell where the midrange driver ends and the soft dome begins.

General description
The Guru 8 speaker is an advanced monitor speaker designed for discerning audiophiles and listening rooms with dedicated listening areas. The Guru 8 speaker delivers a balanced soundstage with clear sound, making details in music clearly audible without causing fatigue. The Guru 8 speaker truly shines in its reproduction of dynamics and stereo imaging: soft passages are rendered subtly, while loud moments sound controlled.
Thanks to its precise output, the Guru 8 speaker delivers a rich sound that truly shines in hi-fi setups and when analyzing music productions. The Guru 8 speaker excels in accuracy, keeping every instrument and every note clearly separated, which enhances the musicality. The Guru 8 speaker’s stereo image is spacious and open, with natural frequency gradations and a delicate balance between bass, midrange, and treble. As a result, this speaker does not dominate the room but integrates seamlessly into the listening space.
Would you like to hear for yourself how the Guru 8 speaker sounds in a real listening room? Schedule a listening session to experience its dynamics and detail firsthand, or compare the Guru 8 speaker with other monitor speakers. You can also discuss a trade-in so you can make the right choice.

High-quality materials, such as Scandinavian plywood—known for its acoustic properties—were chosen for the cabinet. The internal wiring consists of pure copper for optimal signal transmission. Components are manufactured locally in Sweden, with a special emphasis on sustainability and quality. Thanks to advanced manufacturing methods, unwanted resonances are minimized, resulting in an unparalleled listening experience.
Brand History
Guru is a Swedish company based in Stockholm. It designs and manufactures loudspeakers, with all critical components manufactured in-house or under close supervision in Europe. The products are built to the high standards Scandinavian manufacturers are known for. Guru speakers are designed to be placed close to or against the rear wall and take advantage of the characteristics of the room to achieve high sensitivity and bass extension. They have low phase distortion and create a sweet field rather than a sweet spot, allowing multiple people in the room to enjoy the sound reproduction. The speakers maintain the correct sound image height whether the listener is sitting or standing.

Reviews & awards | Guru 8

Stereophile.com

notes that the Guru 8 is a bass-reflex stand-mount speaker with a frequency response ranging from 34 Hz to over 20 kHz, offering performance comparable to larger models in the current lineup. It combines a 19 mm soft-dome tweeter with a 108 mm polypropylene mid/bass driver.

Voir et Émouvoir

describes the Guru 8 as a “small speaker that sounds like a big one,” suitable for compact spaces. The low-end performance is surprising for its size: the bass extends deeper than expected, and the speaker maintains clarity, airiness, and a wide soundstage even at lower volumes.

Community Hi-Fi Corner / Naim Audio Community

mentions in a review of “The Ear” that the Guru 8 scores well, but does require some power from the amplifier to really shine. Despite its compact size, users say it manages to create a “concert atmosphere,” with significant bass when you place the speaker against the back wall.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
