The Monitor Audio Platinum 300 3G is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker that offers an impressive listening experience. With a combination of an MPD III tweeter, a 4-inch RDT III midrange driver and two 8-inch RDT III bass drivers, this speaker delivers a wide and detailed soundstage. The MPD III tweeter provides clear and accurate high-frequency reproduction, while the RDT III drivers contribute to a tight and controlled bass response. The enclosure has been carefully designed with curved and reinforced MDF panels, resulting in a rigid construction that minimizes resonances. The Monitor Audio Platinum 300 3G is the flagship model of the third-generation Platinum series. Designed by chief engineer Dean Hartley, the speaker combines British hi-fi precision with a luxurious finish. The MPD III (Micro-Pleated Diaphragm) tweeter and RDT III (Reinforced Diaphragm Technology) cones deliver exceptional detail and control. The internally braced cabinet is constructed from multiple layers of MDF and reinforced with aluminum, featuring Pureflow OCC copper wiring. Each component is carefully assembled in the UK.
Monitor Audio was founded in 1972 by Mo Iqbal in a small factory in Teversham, near Cambridge, England. The first loudspeaker the company produced was the MA1, assembled by hand by Iqbal and a small team of engineers. Over the years, the company reached several important milestones, including the introduction of the Platinum series in 2007. In 2016, Monitor Audio expanded its portfolio by acquiring Roksan, an audio equipment manufacturer.
