Description
Inside is the ESS Sabre32 Reference DAC, which supports various digital inputs and is compatible with high-resolution music formats. The CD tray with a slot mechanism buffers data before sending it to the DAC, and four digital filter options allow you to customize the sound to your liking.
The analog filter circuits have been refined, and the power supply has been upgraded with a larger toroidal transformer and independent low-noise power supplies, contributing to a clearer and more dynamic sound. The preamplifier features a minimalist design with high-quality components and offers both RCA and balanced XLR outputs.
In terms of connectivity, it features five digital inputs, two analog inputs, and two digital outputs, plus a 12V trigger output. The enclosure features an aluminum front panel, a thick glass top, and CNC-machined heat sinks on the sides, with intuitive touch controls and an included remote control.
Quad has since released several models and series, including the Z Series. This model uses a specially designed sandwich construction in the ribbon tweeters for higher sensitivity and accuracy. The brand continues to develop its products while staying true to Peter Walker’s original philosophy of staying as close to the original sound as possible.
