The subwoofer provides support, ensuring that the midrange and high frequencies reach you with more impact, grandeur, and emotion. The midrange and high frequencies are carried by the low frequencies. When watching movies, it adds that extra dimension that most people simply can’t do without. A good subwoofer doesn’t vibrate itself, but simply sets the surrounding air in motion, resulting in a tight, undulating movement. Wonderful!

Reviews & awards | Sonus Faber GRAVIS II

Sarte Audio (2019)

: Natural sound, elegant design, and great versatility are the characteristics highlighted in this review; the sound stays true to the musical essence of Sonus Faber, featuring high-quality components, compact dimensions, extensive tuning options (crossover up to 120 Hz), and an excellent price-to-performance ratio.

HomeTheaterHifi.com (Yongki Go, 2021)

: The Gravis II is praised for its tight, punchy bass and its ability to handle both music and home theater without noise or muddiness; when paired with the Sonetto III speakers, it fills out the low end convincingly, though it begins to struggle slightly at very high volumes.

Sound & Vision (part of the Lumina Surround Speaker System review)

: The Gravis II delivers consistent bass performance when playing movies (such as in
Midway
and
Ford v Ferrari
), where sounds like engines and machine gun fire are once again reproduced clearly, powerfully, and without distortion; the integration with the speakers is clean, the level of detail is high, and the sound balance is excellent from top to bottom.

CD

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
